Rock in Rio

With a varied line-up, Rock in Rio 4, held between September 23 and October 2 in this issue had seven days of shows and an audience of 100,000 people per day, according to organizers. Marked by extreme, the strength of the performances of veterans like Metallica, Coldplay and Stevie Wonder also saved the artistic part marked by weak performances from Lenny Kravitz, Evanescence and Manna.

The technical part has also contributed to the Rock in Rio 4 was an event of highs and lows. Queues in restrooms and food courts, exorbitant prices, flood of urine caused by chemical toilets working beyond capacity, chaos on arrival and departure of the city of Rock weighed on the negative side. The synthetic turf that prevented the City of Rock virassem a puddle of mud on rainy days and showerhead system that cools the heat in public services were the most successful.

But who saved the skin of the event were, as expected, shows. With a schedule that raised eyebrows in suspicion since it was announced, the mixture is indiscriminate ifluências, is the lack of contemporary names - the line up of Rock in Rio seems anachronistic compared to festivals in North America and Europe - the shows were bigwigs who held the ends.

On balance, current pop stars like Shakira, Katy Perry and Rihanna have done well, but the presentations will be memorable are some of the most experienced veterans like Stevie Wonder, Metallica and Coldplay.
